Introduction:
A contemporary dyeing facility would be impossible to imagine without a laboratory. A contemporary dye house's lab may be regarded as the industry's beating heart. In a dyeing lab, various equipment is utilized. All dyeing lab equipment may be divided into two categories: lab dip preparation equipment or chemical testing machines, and physical testing machines. In this post, I'll go through a list of physical testing devices that may be found in a dyeing lab.
The following is a list of physical testing machines in a dyeing lab:
1. Use a tumble dryer
2. Test for dimensional stability
3. The PH meter
5. Laundry machine
6. Crockmeter
8.Tester for pilling
9.Yarn count tester
Equipment specifications: Color fastness tester
Method:(ISO-105) C06-C2S
Used to determine if a fabric's/yarn color fastness is affected by sweat.
1. 10 cm x 4 cm sample size
2.Stainless stell ball 25
3.Grey Scale
4. Sweaing machine
Equipment specifications: Rubbing fastness tester
• ISO 105-X12:1995 as a test method
Function: Used to determine if a fabric's color fastness is affected by rubbing.
• Dyed specimens (10cm4cm) are rubbed 10 times with an undyed cotton cloth (5cm5cm) by a weighted finger.
• The cotton cloth is wetted out before being rubbed on the colored sample for wet rubbing.

Solution for perspiration
Solution that is alkaline:
Amount in 1 liter of chemical name
0.5 g monohydrate of histidine monohydrochloride
2.5 grams sodium hydrogen orthophosphate (Na2HPO4H2O)
Solution of acid:
Amount in 1 liter of chemical name
0.5 g monohydrate of histidine monohydrochloride
5.0 g sodium chloride
2.2 grams sodium dihydrogen orthophosphate (NaH2PO4H2O)
• A sample measuring 10cm4cm is cut and a multi-fiber fabric is stitched with it as part of the testing procedure.
• The sample is immersed into a sweat chemical-containing solution.
• The surplus chemical is squeezed out of the sample.
• The sample is then put on two perspirometer plates and crushed at 12.5 KPa.
• The perspirometer is then placed in the oven with the specimen for four hours at 37 degrees Celsius.
• Finally, the sample's color shift is evaluated, as well as the surrounding fabric's color staining.
Function:Water fastness
To test the dimensional stability of a sample, it is washed using a standard washing chemical.

Function:Yarn strength tester
Function:Yarn twist tester
Function:Yarn CSP tester
Function:Yarn IPI tester
Function:Yarn count tester
• The yarns are unraveled from the sample and the fabric sample is cut by laying the template on the cloth.
• A standard weight is kept on the machine's edge.
• The unraveled threads are then placed one by one on the machine's hook until the pointer reaches the datum line.
• When the pointer is aligned with the datum line, the skeins on the hook are counted to get the yarn count.
Function:GSM (grams per square meter) cutter
• Country of origin: China
Used to prepare a sample for GSM testing.
• The sample is chopped
• The sample is then weighed with an electrical balance.
• GSM is calculated by multiplying the weight by one.
Procedure for testing:Pilling tester
• Sample size: 25cm x 12.5cm
• A sample with dimensions of 25cm12.5cm is rolled onto a packaging and placed in the machine's box.
• The machine is started and ran until the required cycle is completed.
• After completing the required cycle, the sample is compared to standard pictures to determine the fabric's pilling resistance.
Procedure for testing:Test for shrinkage
• The sample for the shrinkage test is put on the table.
• The glass template is placed on the sample and a permanent marker is used to mark it.
• After that, the sample is washed at 60 degrees Celsius.
• To determine the dimensional change, three locations on the warp side and three points on the weft side are examined, and the mean value is taken for an accurate result.
Remarks:
It is necessary to express our gratitude to the Authority for providing us with this once-in-a-lifetime chance to tour their lab. I hope that the information gained in the lab will be extremely useful to a textile engineer who want to work as a lab technician. We were basically exposed to various laboratory equipment, their functions, and the testing method. And I'm hoping that all of our profits will be really useful to us. Above all, we would like to express our gratitude to our honored instructor for his excellent cooperation and attentive supervision.
