Bangladesh will send an 18-member delegation to the world's largest sporting event, including six athletes who will compete in various disciplines and 12 officials.
From July 23 to August 8, the Olympic games will be hosted in Tokyo, Japan's capital.
The summer Olympics are officially known as Tokoyo 2020 and are the 32nd Olympiad's Games.
After being postponed due to the pandemic last year, the world's largest international multi-sport festival appears to be on track to resume this year.
This is the first time the Games have been postponed and rescheduled rather than cancelled in their history.
The Tokoyo Olympics, which were initially set to take place from July 24 to August 9, 2020, were postponed in March 2020 because to the Covid-19 outbreak and rescheduled for 2021. Under the state of emergency, it will be held largely behind closed doors, with no onlookers permitted.
In their fantasy, six Bangladeshi athletes will compete in four sports: archery, swimming, athletics, and shooting.
They are Rumana Shana and Diya Siddiqui, two archers.
Ariful Islam and Junaina Ahmed are two swimmers.
Jahir Raihan, a lone track athlete, and Abdullahhel Baki, a lone shooter.
On July 23, swimmer Ariful Islam will carry the Bangladesh flag at the opening ceremony.
On Wednesday, a three-member Bangladesh contingent, together with team officials, would depart for Tokyo.
In a press conference held at a local hotel on Wednesday, Bangladesh Olympic Association Secretary General Syed Shahed Reza revealed specifics on the country's Olympic objective.
